Gerstell Academy Hosts 4th Annual Robotics Expo for Lower School Teams
On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, Gerstell Academy’s Upper School Robotics Team, FTC 6390, hosted the 4th Annual Robotics Expo for the school’s five Lower School First Lego League (FLL) Explore Teams. This event highlights the three levels of FIRST Robotics offered at Gerstell and provides younger students with hands-on STEM experiences. Throughout the expo, students rotated through interactive stations, including team model and poster judging from the Submerged season, an introduction to the Upper School’s First Tech Challenge (FTC) program, a robot driving experience, a STEM make-and-take activity, and an overview of the FLL Challenge teams available in Middle School.
This year’s Submerged season focused on ocean exploration and the importance of preserving marine ecosystems. At the expo, the Lower School teams had the opportunity to showcase what they learned about the ocean and celebrate how robotics can enhance scientific discovery. By engaging with older students and exploring different aspects of robotics, participants gained insight into the exciting opportunities that await them as they progress through Gerstell’s STEM programs.
