Physical Education

At Gerstell Academy, development of healthy habits for a lifetime is an integral part of leadership education. Physical training provides both daily physical education and competitive athletic opportunities. Students participate in daily physical exercise, outdoor recess, intramural sports, athletic competition, dance, and weight training.

Lower school students participate in physical education classes four times per week; middle school students participate in physical education classes four times per week, while upper school students participate in a variety of physical education electives.

Athletics

Gerstell Academy offers interscholastic competitive athletics in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) and Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland (IAAM) for boys and girls starting in Middle School (Grade 5). Students compete in cross country, soccer, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, lacrosse and baseball.
