Emily Messinese, '21 Gerstell Alum, Future Navy Pilot, Continues to Impact NCAA Lacrosse with her Leadership and Perseverance

Emily Messinese ’21 left Gerstell Academy to follow her dream of becoming a Navy pilot at the United States Naval Academy. Inspired by her father’s service, Emily made the decision to attend the Naval Academy before her junior year of high school. A standout leader throughout her four years at Gerstell, she earned numerous athletic honors, including being named an Under Armour All-American in lacrosse, First Team IAAM A Conference in lacrosse, First Team IAA B Conference in soccer, and First Team All-Carroll County in soccer. 
 
At the Naval Academy, Emily has continued to excel, earning national recognition with accolades such as USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American, Inside Lacrosse All-American, IWLCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region, All-Patriot League, Patriot League All-Tournament Team, Patriot League Midfielder of the Week (March 6, 2023), and Patriot League Rookie of the Week (Feb. 21, 2022). As captain of the Navy women’s lacrosse team, Emily continues to lead with integrity and inspire those around her through her dedication and positive leadership.
