Equestrian Samantha Schwartz places First in Novice Young Adult Rider Division
Senior Samantha Schwartz has always had a special place in her heart when it comes to horses. She began riding when she was eleven years old. Paulito, also known in the show ring as Rumble Fish, came into Samantha’s life just 2 years ago. This 15 year old quarter horse had a rough start suffering an injury just 2 months after he became a member of the Schwartz family. Today is a different story. Samantha and Paulito have competed in 14 events this year and plan to compete in more competitions before year end. Together, they have placed in the top 6 of almost every competition entered in 2021.
Most recently, Samantha and Paulito were among a group of champions at the 2021 American Eventing Championship in Kentucky. Six divisions of novice horses and riders entered the Rolex Arena for their final phase of competition. Samantha and Paulito placed 3rd in the Novice Amateur division which included 53 other riders from all over the country.
Samantha attainted the following achievements before entering the championships this year. She placed 4th in the Area II Championship in Maryland; 3rd place at Pine Top Farm Horse Trials in March; 2nd place at Plantation Field Horse Trials in April; and 1st place at the Horse Park of New Jersey Horse Trials in July. She is currently in 1st place on the leaderboard for the Novice Young Adult Rider Division. Congratulations to Samantha for all that she has accomplished!
