Fifth Grade Visits NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center
Fifth graders recently explored NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, where they witnessed the development of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, a groundbreaking instrument set to expand our view of the universe.

Students toured NASA’s largest clean room, observing scientists and engineers assembling the telescope’s components. They also visited testing facilities, learning how the telescope is prepared for the extreme conditions of space.
A key discussion highlighted how Nancy Grace Roman will capture wide-field images, expanding our cosmic view 100 times more than Hubble and aiding in the study of dark energy and dark matter.
The trip was an exciting conclusion to the students’ space unit, inspiring curiosity about the future of space exploration!
