On Wednesday, December 18th, lower school students visited the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall to experience a reimagined version of The Nutcracker performed by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and dancers from the Baltimore School for the Arts.
This reimagined version of The Nutcracker, choreographed by Amy Hall Garner, is set in the charming Baltimore neighborhood of Mount Vernon. The story beautifully incorporates many of Baltimore’s iconic community landmarks, such as The Walters Art Gallery, the beloved Restaurante Tio Pepe, and even the dazzling fireworks from the Monument Lighting! Dancers from the Baltimore School for the Arts took center stage, performing to Tchaikovsky’s timeless score and bringing the magic of the city to life on stage. Their graceful movements and vibrant energy capture the essence of Baltimore, making this production a truly unique and enchanting experience.
