Battle of the Books is an after-school club that meets every other Tuesday.  As is customary with teams competing in this event, the choice of team name is of utmost importance!  This year’s team name is the Wild Reading Guanacos!    A guanaco is a camelid native to South America, closely related to the llama.  During the meetings students have book discussions, play games, and participate in various activities related to the book they are assigned to read  This year’s book selection featured ten books chosen by the Carroll County Public Library and a total of eight teams competed in this year’s event.  During the battle, the author’s name and title of the book must be written on each team’s response.  After an intense battle, the students’ hard work and perseverance paid off as the students earned a third-place finish!
